چکیده

Martin and Eaves (1977) developed a method for the analysis of genotypic and environmental covariance structure based on the work of J6reskog (1973). Their method is a general approach to the analysis of covariance structure which allows simultaneous testing of hypotheses about the sources and structure of covariation. The method provides maximumlikelihood estimates of genetical and environmental factor loadings and specific variances. Martin and Eaves applied this method to twin data on cognitive abilities published by Loehlin and Vandenberg (1968). To obtain parameter estimates, standard errors of estimates, and chi-square tests, they implemented their method while using a minimization algorithm (EO4HAF) written by the Numerical Algorithms Group (1974). As their implementation--which is, in fact, a rather intricate affair--is not readily available, it would seem worthwhile to consider the possibility of handling their method by the LISREL computer program of J6reskog and S6rbom (1981). The latter program is easily accessible and is widely known. In this paper we first show how LISREL can be used for the genetic analysis

Decomposition of multivariate phenotypic means in multigroup genetic covariance structure analysis.

Observed differences in phenotypic means between groups such as parents and their offspring or male and female twins can be decomposed into genetic and environmental components. The decomposition is based on the assumption that the difference in phenotypic means is due to a difference in the location of the normal genetic and environmental distributions underlying the phenotypic individual diff...

Analysis of the covariance structure of digital ridge counts in the offspring of monozygotic twins.

Improved methods for analysis of covariance structures now permit the rigorous testing of multivariate genetic hypotheses. Using Jöreskog's Lisrel IV computer program we have conducted a confirmatory factor analysis of dermal ridge counts on the individual fingers of 509 offspring of 107 monozygotic twin pairs. Prior to the initiation of the model-fitting procedure, the sex-adjusted ridge count...

The genetic analysis of repeated measures. I. Simplex models.

The well-known simplex model is extended to a model that may be used for the genetic and environmental analysis of covariance structures. This "double" simplex structure can be specified as a LISREL model. It is shown that data which give rise to a simplex correlation structure, such as repeated-measures data, do not fit a factor-analysis model. The parameter estimation of the simplex model is ...

Covariance-based Structural Equation Models

Formatively measured constructs have been increasingly used in information systems research. With few exceptions, however, extant studies have been relying on the partial least squares (PLS) approach to specify and estimate structural models involving constructs measured with formative indicators. This paper highlights the benefits of employing covariance structure analysis (CSA) when investiga...

Random regression models for estimation of covariance functions of growth in Iranian Kurdi sheep

Body weight (BW) records (n=11,659) of 4961 Kurdi sheep from 215 sires and 2085 dams were used to estimate the additive genetic, direct and maternal permanent environmental effects on growth from 1 to 300 days of age. The data were collected from 1993 to 2015 at a breeding station in North Khorasan province; Iran. Genetic parameters for growth traits were estimated using random regression test-...
